is there currently in place a method to purchase a building from a space port and after hauling it back to one of your planets 'deploying' it on the planet/in a city?

Nope, the closest thing to what you are describing is the Mobile Facility Builder which is a ship component that allows the ship to build any facility on a planet without needed a colony on the planet.

ah, I was asking as some of the buildings I've seen on the senate reports would be... useful to have and without plans i can't build them, and though I'd love to have the plans, more realistically a civilization would be more prone to sell a single unit then releasse the plans. Though from what i've gathered about the particular building I've been looking at, it requires a manufactured resource to use, allowing the building blueprints to be sold at a nominal fee without too much worrying as the resource is still needed and can be the profit producing part. (If you haven't guessed, I've been looking at the cloning center, which appears to use CloneChem Barrels to produce the clones.)

You like those do ya. Well I suppose I could create some commands to allow people to sell plans of facilities for one=time construction per plan. This is actually a good idea now that I think of it.
All see what I can do.

This could be made as a contracted company from the other empire, to buid the referred building. (I'm interested too) The same could be applied to the barrels, with some sort of foreign controlled factory that produces a certain item for local consumption without releasing the formula. Much like Coke

with the barrels, you can buy them like any other resource ^.~ they're made in a 'man fac'. I wasn't too worried about aquiring them But i hadn't thought about hiring another empire's business as the method of deployment. Personally I'm still liking the 'magical box' or one use blueprints though... I'm not sure how much information need to be passed to the other civilization about where the building is going to be placed for their independant business to build it...
