hmm, ok, i understand everything except the theory section... logically I'd put my scientific theory describing the fundamentals that make the technology work, however in the game context, I'm not sure what's expected there. I figured the description is where we describe what the tech is/does... I could really use an example... best choice would be an example that creates something already in public domain (like say the mini fusion reactor, being designed by someone thinking the normal reactor was too big)...
^^; I feel like such a newb... specially as it seems the other new players figured this stuff out on their own (or their posts were cropped out as they got old ^^ )

Theory section would be where you would put scientific theory for roleplaying purposes. Description would be just a quick description of exactly what you are attempting to accomplish game-wise such as stronger shields, more powerful generator, etc..

An example could be
Project Name: Helion Sheath Project Description: Allows ships to hyperjump directly to planets, and within two squares of a star. Theories: The helion sheath is a modification to the Hyper Drive Core which allows the input of dark energy into the Hyper Drive bubble. The dark energy shields the bubble from the effects of gravity, and thus, if properly calibrated, allows the ship to open an exit from hyperspace close to high gravity sources, just as easily as it would exit hyperspace in normal locations. In effect because, to the bubble, there is no gravity thanks to the dark energy input.
