I've been playing with what i have while i wait for my 'starter packet' thingie and I've noticed that we seem to run into a power limit at about midway through the Frigate class ship (around 30 modules), for ships with reasonable weaponry and parts... Is this purposefully so we have to research/steal/purchase more powerful reactors or have i missed something? I looked for something about this already, but didn't see anything, forgive the newb if it's already been covered ^^; thank you for your time, Leliel, Stochocracy of Gorsat

Yeah you either need to research more powerful power generators to build the larger ships. I can't make things too easy on you guys. :-)
You can also buy the generators from the Trade Tri-Systems...some players have done this already.
There is also special resources out there that have some great power generation properites, you will be able to extract these from the ground.
You should be able to make a Destroyer sized ship with the standard power generator. The startup package comes with an S-Class ship which is a good starter Destroyer sized ship.

kewl, I figured as much ^^ and I'll probbably be able to get more bang for my power plant as i play with the ship creator more oh, just as a note, in the ShipDesign_auto.xls the mini-fusion powerplant has its a crew requirement of 250 and no power output, i think the enitre line is off by one cell, but I'm not positive, also, you miss locked some of the auto-calc on the 'Calc' page. Assuming the mini-fusion was just off by one i have the corrections to these here: images.socialstigma.net/leliel/sheets/ShipDesign_auto-fix.xls (if anyone has trouble reading that, I'll see what i can do, I use openoffice myself and i've never validated the compatibility mode before ^^; )

Ok thanks. I didn't make the ship design worksheet, I'm not that skilled with Excel. A player submitted the one we currently use. Your corrected version will be used now.
Thanks again.
