Officer System:Naming Officers:If you wish to have unique names for your Officers simply send me a text document with their old name and their new name. For example:
Officer 1 = Jim Bob
Also if you wish to assign names to them when you recruit them simply attach a text file with the names you wish to use.
Officer Assignment:The command to assign a captain to a ship remains pretty much the same, only add in the Officer's Name in the details column.
To remove an Officer from his assignment simply give the following command:
Command: Unassign
Details: Officer Name, transfer to Planet.
Note the 'transfer to Planet'. This could be changed to either 'transfer to ship name' (ship must be in same square for transfer to work) or 'transfer to quarters' (transfers the Officer to an empty crew quarter on the ship. This can only be used if there is free space on the ship.)
Rank Structure:The ranks listed on the Military Report are the default ranks. If you wish to use your own names for each rank simply send me a text document that has the old name and then the new name along with it's abbreviation, for example:
Colonel = Grand Booba (GBOB)
Prestige:Each turn you will receive 1D20 worth of prestige. Prestige is used to promote your Officers to the next rank. With each rank that the Officer is promoted he gains a certain amount of Respect. (More on respect later)
You can gain prestige faster by investing some credits into programs that promote your Empire's military might. (such as military parades, airshows, military demonstrations, military recuiting in schoools, etc...) You also receive prestige by winning battles. The bigger the battle the more prestige you get.
----->
Investing in Prestige: - 1,000,000cr gets you 1D4 x 1D20
- 2,000,000cr gets you 1D4 +5 x 1D20
- 3,000,000cr gets you 1D4 +10 X 1D20
- 4,000,000cr gets you 1D4 +20 x 1D20
- 5,000,000cr gets you 1D10 + 25 x 1D20
When an officer is killed in battle, you will receive 40% of the prestige that you invested in him.
To promote an officer simply give the following command:
Command: Promote
Details: Officer 1 to rank of Captain 2nd Bar.
Rank Promotion Cost Table:- Captain 2nd Bar = Costs 100 Prestige and gives 15 Respect.
- Captain 3rd Bar = Costs 150 Prestige and gives 15 Respect
- Full Captain = Costs 150 Prestige and gives 15 Respect
- Major = Costs 250 Prestige and gives 20 Respect
- Colonel = Costs 350 Prestige and gives 25 Respect
- General 1rst Star = Costs 500 Prestige and gives 30 Respect
- General 2nd Star = Costs 600 Prestige and gives 35 Respect
- General 3rd Star = Costs 700 Prestige and gives 40 Respect
- General 4th Star = Costs 900 Prestige and gives 50 Respect
- Admiral = Costs 2500 Prestige and gives 75 Respect
The Stats:What do they mean? What's up with the Bonus/Penalty?
Firstly the first three stats; Intelligence, Command Ability and Tactics are randomly generated when you recruit Officers. These stats are a number between 1 (Poor) and 10 (Excellent). These numbers do not change throughout the Officer's career. They represent the base skill of the Officer. Intelligence affects Accuracy, Command Ability affects Evade and Tactics affects both Accuracy and Evade.
The two other stats are Battle Experience, which goes up everytime the Officer commands a ship into battle. Even if he doesn't win the battle he still gains some battle experience (provided he's not dead) For a win he gets 1D4 x 1D10, for a loss or tie, 1D10. Battle experience affects Accuracy and Evade.
The last stat is Respect, this represents how much respect the Officer commands. A new recruit fresh out of the Academy will not garner very much respect from his crew who have probably been working on ships for as long as the Officer's been alive. The Officer must gain their trust and build his reputation as a good Officer so that the crew of the ships he commands will be pushed to their maximum effort. Respect goes up naturally every turn the Officer commands a ship by 1 pt. You can gain a big boost in respect by Promoting an Officer to a higher rank. Each rank provides a certain amount of respect that comes along with the title.
Respect also plays a role on whether or not the Officer will get a bonus or a penalty. If an Officer's Respect stat is very low and he is put in command of a Titan sized ship, he will be facing a big penalty. New recruits should begin their careers on smaller ships until they gain enough respect to command the bigger sized ships.
Respect/Crew Size table:- 25 crew and under = Need respect of 10 or higher
- 26 to 45 crew = Need respect of 30 or higher
- 46 to 55 crew = Need respect of 50 or higher
- 56 to 65 crew = Need respect of 100 or higher
- 66 to 75 crew = Need respect of 130 or higher
- 76 to 85 crew = Need respect of 150 or higher
- 86 to 95 crew = Need respect of 190 or higher
- 96 to 110 crew = Need respect of 240 or higher
- 111 and up = Need respect of 320 or higher
The bigger the respect difference between what is required and what the Officer has, the higher the penalty will be.
*Please note that even if you are looking at a penalty, it doesn't mean your ship is crap in combat. Officers are only a small part of the formula. What matters most is your ship's abilities and it's weaponry.

Well I guess that's it. Any questions, email me or reply to this thread.
